When the Killer is an AI
What happens when the killer is an AI? Recent incidents involving advanced AI systems raise a question our criminal justice system was never designed to answer: Who is responsible when an autonomous machine commits an act that would be a felony if committed by a human? For police leaders and policymakers, this may be a question we need to answer sooner than we think.
